KDE 4.1 Changing the focus behavior

    Hi,

With Kubuntu 8.10, I am having some problems with KDE. Windows requesting focus are not getting it.

For example, when I receive an IM from pidgin, the window does not pop up to the front of the screen like it did in previous versions. Because of this, I miss replying to many messages.

Also, when I download a torrent, Ktorrent's file dialog does not automatically pop up to the front of the screen. It pops up, but it is hidden behind all of my other windows. I have to manually click on ktorrent on the panel each time to bring it to the front, and then I can choose which files to download. This is a little annoying.

In KDE, under settings, I set the 'Focus stealing policy' to None, but this doesn't seem to help.

    Any ideas?

Which version of KDE are you using? I don't seem to have it with 4.1.85 (4.2 beta 2).

    I'm using 4.1 for now.

I guess I can wait a while for 4.2, unless there is some other easy way to fix this.
