    Compiz Fusion: Transparent Windows

I had 8.04 and could adjust the transparency of windows by holding alt and scrolling.

I have 8.10 and cannot do this, I tried loosing in ccsm and can't find a way to enable it...

    Hey

It's very easy to make transparent windows. It's the same way to make the menu transparent. Type "!" in the Opacity menu instead of copying "Tooltip | Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu". That's all ...

In ccsm, the plugin that does this is "Opacity, Brightness and Saturation" (under "Accessibility"-section.).

On the Opacity-tab set mouse shortcut for "Increase" to "<Alt>Button4" and for "Decrease" to "<Alt>Button5". Now holding Alt and scrolling with the mouse wheel will increase/decrease the window's opacity.

Thanks, I didn't even have to goto the tab, I just had to enabled it.

I am not sure if it was enabled by default in 8.04, or I "accidentally" did it, but my 7.10 machine let me do it too, unless I activated it there without knowing either...
