    Yeah, when that happens, run:

    dpkg-reconfigure mythtv-database

It will ask you for the root mysql password which you can then enter.

I did use that command but got "Failed to connect to database (incorrect admin password)" when running the update.

Well then i'd make sure you have the root password set right. Run this to reset it:

    dpkg-reconfigure mysql-server-5.0

    How do you mean right?
I have changed the root password to my own.

If this is the case, then the packaging for when you run dpkg-reconfigure mythtv-database should be handling this case properly. If it's not, then you might have unearthed a bug.

Do you by chance use any non alpha numeric characters in your password? That's the only thing I could think that would be causing breakage with it.

Well could you set your root password to something more common temporarily and try it with that? If that doesn't work properly, then open up a bug (and mention the common password you were trying with) and we'll carry on debugging there.

Hmmm, I get a second set of packages for update today, the SVN-numbers have gone from 20273 to 20274. I like regular updates, but is this supposed to happen?
All packages seem to be working fine, so I'm not complaining. Just an observation.

Yes. It's more like daily builds now.
