Wireless trouble with Xubuntu 8.10 on PS3

Hi all, I am having trouble with the wireless. I am not sure if I am using WPA or WPA2 I don't really know that much about security but after I installed Xubuntu on the PS3 it wouldn't hook up to the internet. I know I dont have WEP security on my wireless router. I have no land line to connect my PS3 to either so the only way I am going to be able to hook up is with the router... So if anyone can help me to figure out how to get my wireless working I would really apreciate it.

ok so i found out i had wpa security. I changed it to WEP because supposedly it worked with the PS3 wireless card. Still having trouble though. It still won't recognise my router.
