Once again, thank you very much DefineByte! Your suggested change to the file /etc/acpi/lid.sh worked like a charm. To
summarize, and be explicit for any others who may be searching for this, here is what to do:
1. Make a backup of /etc/acpi/lid.sh just in case this doesn't work.
2. Replace the contents of /etc/acpi/lid.sh with:
Code:
#!/bin/bash
# TODO: Change the above to /bin/sh
test -f /usr/share/acpi-support/state-funcs || exit 0
. /usr/share/acpi-support/power-funcs
. /usr/share/acpi-support/policy-funcs
. /etc/default/acpi-support
[ -x /etc/acpi/local/lid.sh.pre ] && /etc/acpi/local/lid.sh.pre
if [ `CheckPolicy` = 0 ]; then exit; fi
grep -q closed /proc/acpi/button/lid/*/state
if [ $? = 0 ]
then
vbetool dpms off
else
vbetool dpms on
fi
[ -x /etc/acpi/local/lid.sh.post ] && /etc/acpi/local/lid.sh.post
and save.
3. To get the configuration to take effect, run
Code:
sudo /etc/init.d/acpid restart
and that should do it!
