Question How to properly configure a write-only, SCP-enabled account ?

    Hello,

I have that need of creating something that behaves like a drop-box folder: a write-only folder I could push a file to.

I first thought about creating a dedicated Ubuntu account (I'm on Dapper), where I would activate SCP to a specific folder, configured as write-only.

Is it the recommended way of setting up a drop-box folder ? Are there any caveats or recommendations for more experienced users ?

[EDIT] - after posting, I'm just thinking it could be the wrong place to post this. If so please tell me and I'll move the post[/EDIT]

    thanks!

    Thibaut

It might be easier to do this with Samba.
