Access Concentrator doesn't respond Intrepid

I have a PPPOE connection when I try to create a connection it tells me that my "Access Concentrator isn't responding".

I've had this problem on Hardy before Twice. The first time it was only on one computer (and was because I couldn't install the drivers) and the other time I had to change it from roaming mode to a fixed connection.

At the moment (on hardy) it works on both computers but when I boot from the Intrepid live CD it doesn't. I don't know how to change it from roaming mode, and when I try to install the network card drivers it says something about "cannot install in catman mode".

Also when scanning the network interfaces it says that it has an MTU of 64 and it should be 1500.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?
The router I am using is not wireless and is a NetComm NB1300 PLUS 4.
