how do I load windows from other partition using virtual machine?

Hello.
I have windows XP installed on one hard disk, and ubuntu hardy installed on another hard disk.
How can I use windows through ubuntu using virtual machine?

I don't think virtualisation will work this way. It basically sets up a new pc with no OS, and so needs proper 'installation media' such as a linux live cd, or a windows installation cd (or an .iso disk image).

It is theoretically possible with Virtaulbox, but I've never managed it.
