Install Restricted Nvidia Driver via Proxy

I'm not sure that it's a right place to ask this question, and I know my problem is so unique and strange.

Many technological websites and download resources based in United States are filtered to the Iranian visitors, and I use a proxy to visit them. Recently I have an strange problem: While I try to install the restricted driver of my Nvidia GeForce graphic card, It always fail to download. So I guess that the Nvidia website rejects the requests from Iranian IP addresses.
Is there any way to install the driver via a proxy? If so which proxy solution?

(I have insyalled Ubuntu 8.10 on my dv6000 HP laptop)

2) Sarcasm is not helpful. Sometimes help comes quickly; sometimes it can take a while. Yes that is frustrating, but please have patience.

Have you tried to install it from System > Administration > Hardware Drivers

I installed Tor and Torbutton. But my IP is not antonymous in firefox yet!

Did you install privoxy and activate torbutton. Try this: In a terminal type in

sudo apt-get install privoxy

Reboot and click on the torbutton. It should then work.
