Not to be a jerk or anything, but can't you just make a deb package or something as I really don't have to time to do all of this. I need a quick way I don't really have to think all that much.

Hi brandon,
That is a fair question. The short answer is that others have already done this work:

All the best,

You think that's air you're breathing now?
if i have the last nvidia drivers, how do i get mplayer-svn with vdpau support in order to watch h264 files?
i'm used to compile mplayer-svn with this how-to...
do i need another dev library?
thanks
Hi jfca283,
vdpau is one of the reasons I am getting out of the svn MPlayer business . Unfortunately I know next to nothing about it, for the most part because I do not have the hardware to test it. There are a couple of threads that might help, the first that comes to mind is this one:
HOWTO: Nvidia Driver + VDPAU + Smplayer +Mplayer
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1037625
Bear in mind that the MPlayer you have compiled from this guide will playback h264 files, all vdpau is about is offloading much of the processing onto an appropriate nvidia graphics card.
All the best,
Andrew

oh...
i don't know
i find the method mention by you a little bit complicated
your way is so simple
thanks
Hi jfca,
My apologies but my knowledge of vdpau is almost nonexistent . But this certainly looks promising:
Nvidia Vdpau Team PPA

I have added in a small section that details how the new libopencore-amr libraries can be added to allow playback of files with amr sound. Please let me know if there are any problems...
