Lost ability to smooth scroll pages???

Yesterday i was experimenting w/ compiz and the different effects, and now when I scroll web pages it goes frame by frame, it's really annoying and kinda hurts the eyes. I have disabled all advanced desktop effects and my laptop is set to average visual effects. However it still seems to fade into windows and the scrolling as mentioned before is choppy? Interestingly enough I created a second user and none of these problems exists? any help would be very cool, I really don't want to reformat....

This will set compiz to default and hopefully help your problem. In terminal copy and past the following:

 gconftool-2 --recursive-unset -a /apps/compiz

Wow thanks so much, I just recently bought a book "A Practical Guide To Ubuntu Linux", cause I just want to know everything there is to know and I kinda messed things up on the way, thanks again......

Unbelieveable the problem is back, tried again what originally did work, but now it does not...huh?, this stinks
