I liked playing around with btrfs a while back, and with ZFS longer ago.
Was just glancing through this :
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ext4
What? Don't you have tons of 16TB files you've been dying to save to an EXT filesystem?!?

To the average user, they may see a bit of a performance increase with EXT4, but most people don't have a need, or ability to scale high enough that reap the rewards EXT4 brings in over EXT3.

    Yes. that's right! That's what I meant.

Well, looks like I used the wrong word. It should not be "shocking", more like "funny" & "unexpected"

Anyway, albinootje does that photo really look like serious to you?
It looks to me as if Torvald is about to cry or simply annoyed.

Someone should change the photo of Torvalds, it looks ridiculous.

I think Linus is just frowning his forehead, or thinking about something difficult.
But I agree that there are a lot nicer photos from him, I prefer the photo on the english wikipedia page.

I am on the 2.6.28 kernel now, with Grub2 booting it. I'm backing up my laptop's hard drive on my new 640GB external hard drive and then will whipe it clean so it is formated to EXT4 and restore my backup. What fun.
