    Can't Install Adobe Flash Player Firefox Plugin from Terminal

    Hi, I have downloaded the install_flash_player.so.tar.gz from the adobe website, and I can't figure out how to install it.

    When I extract the archive there are two files: flashplayer-installer and libflashplayer.so

    Double clicking on flashplayer-installer does nothing. Do I need to execute the installer from within Terminal? If so, what command should I use? Thanks!

    @nabilalk,

    If you have problems installing the adobe flash plugin, or you have installed it as shown on Adobe site, but it still works "half-way" (bad sound / skipping / hangs / etc..), check this out:

    http://blog.dotkam.com/2009/01/07/in...irefox-plugin/

    It is a known problem (the solution is above) for current "Ubuntu + Firefox", you're not alone.

    Good Luck!

    Hi, it is nice to hear that I am not alone. I will try your fix and post back if I have any problems.

    Sendblink23 thank you, you are an absolute legend, I just spent 2 hours trying to get my flash player sound back that mysteriously vanished today when it was working fine yesterday! But unmarking all that rubbish and reinstalling has worked great, cheers
