I need help with pvm sensors

Got 8.10 running nicely on sony vaio vgn-n38z/w.
But I cant control the fans and it seems to be off/very low the cpu is running pretty hot around 50-60 and I'm not all that comfortable with it.

lm-sensors is not detecting any pvm thingies but I know they're there as speedfan works

    jake@jake-vaio:~$ sensors
    acpitz-virtual-0
    Adapter: Virtual device
    temp1: +45.0°C (crit = +105.0°C)
    temp2: +45.0°C (crit = +105.0°C)

    coretemp-isa-0000
    Adapter: ISA adapter
    Core 0: +45.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

    coretemp-isa-0001
    Adapter: ISA adapter
    Core 1: +43.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

Can anyone please help me this is really bothering me, I've searched and read all the posts on it I can find and tried a few different things but I can't get anywhere.

    Thanks,
    Jake
