    [SOLVED] help with firefox

I'm using Firefox 3.0.5 on Ubuntu 8.10. There was a time when you could type a url into firefox's urlbar, close the tab, open a new tab, click the arrow in the urlbar and be presented with all the url's you have typed in so you could choose from them to re-open a page. Now, I know that firefox has a history function but that becomes difficult when you have open and closed more than 500 webpages.

The arrow in the current urlbar only presents a list of bookmarked pages, and that won't work as the url I typed in is not in my bookmarks. I have my bookmarks memorized anyway so that functionality is useless.

How do I go back to the old setting where clicking the arrow in the urlbar presents me with a list of url's that I have manually typed in?

    UPDATE:
Never mind, it seems you need to have history enabled to get this functionality and I don't want to enable history because I like my ~/.mozilla being less than 5mb
