    external hard drive does not show up

    I have an external hard drive that will not show up when I plug it in. It shows up in windows, as a little popup that says that the usb device cannot be recognized.
    I saw this thread. I don't know if it would help...

    I have the same problem with one of my USB devices. The Printer and the USB Disk are detected but the USB IR Receiver causes this error:
