    Hi there.
Right-click on it, and choose remove (or delete)...

I get no context menu when I right click on it.

Right-click on your Main Menu, and choose Edit Menus. In my Intrepid it's under Applications. Maybe you can remove it from there.

Thanks, but I'm talking about the icon in the notification area, not the menu. It's odd because i've completely uninstalled all of the universal access features.

Maybe you have to log out and in and for the changes to take place. Otherwise I wouldn't know how to help you further...
    You could try in Synaptic..

I figured it out. Thanks much for the help. For anybody who google searches up this thread with the same problem as me, take it off with alt-f2 gnome-keyboard-properties. under accessibility uncheck the box that says accessibility features can be toggled with keyboard.

Thanks for the solution. There really should be a right click context menu to remove the icon though. It's not very user friendly as it is now.

Thank you, that solved it for me on a Fedora system as well. Really annoying thing.
