    Upgraded and driver missing

So I did some updates on my hardy system, and my wireless restricted drivers disappeared and they no longer appear on the restricted driver manager. What can I do?

Go into Synaptic Package Manager and add the restrictive repositories, then download them.

    Re: Upgraded and driver missing

    Please post the results of:
    Code:
    lspci -nn
    lshw -C network
That will help us identify your wireless card and possibly point you in the right direction.

Oh if you wanna know my wireless card, it is WDA-1320 but there are no linux drivers for it if thats what you are thinking about. Therefore I need the restricted driver I was using before. Here are the results anyways.

Have you checked to see if linux-backports-modules-intrepid-generic is installed?

    Babujbf

Have you been able to "fix" this problem??

I'm curious as i have exactly the same issue, I have a thread out there where previously I just removed the "offending" drivers, rebooted, reloaded them and then rebooted again (a bit long winded but it worked!), but on this occasion the wifi card will still not work.

Unfortunately I have now buggered around with modprobe so much I may well have broken the card untill I do a clean install.... I just need to find the instalation disk that I used to have!

Otherwise I am now hearing from friends that Intrepid is much better than it was 4 months ago.... it completely caned my system!

So maybee I need to do a clean upgrade....?

Have you checked to see if a live CD works for you? I would use one if I could find one!

When I used to install I didn't even need to hard wire into the net, it would just work straight off the wireless, no hassles at all.

But this seems to happen to me far too often, and seemingly to everyone else as well!
