    Hah, seriously an intro video?

    That will never happen.

A while ago, I proposed a tutorial slideshow during installation, and it was approved for 8.10, but now it appears to have been deferred until 9.04.

We'll see if it really makes it into Jaunty or not.

A slideshow is more likely to be approved because it's useful.

A video file that just shows some unrelated stuff with some music isn't.

There isn't enough room for it in the iso and it serves no purpose.

As useless as it'd be, I wouldn't mind seeing african animals during installation.

The video looks like it was made in movie maker, Just proves we don't have a decent video editor.

I actually just got around to watching the video. It looks pretty slick, but it looks more like an advertisement for a National Geographic special than an operating system.

I'm not a big fan of the whole "intro video" concept, but if we had one, I think it'd be better for it to include some actual instructions for how to do basic things in Ubuntu.

We should see actual people in the video, like coming together, shaking hands, smiling, hugging, building **** and stuff... With that video Ubuntu looks like "Linux for wildebeest" It misses the whole point.

It doesn't really say anything but it suggests themes of freedom, open spaces and global... global-ness.

So there is a message there I think.

If Ubuntu ever includes a video with people hugging and shaking hands, building things then why not slap a big sticker over the install disc saying Ubuntu "oxfam edition"
