Yup... it might be so but 180.16 supports VDPAU better...

    Xine also now supports it...

My Glxgears values went down with 180.16 but is still excellent at least
    on my PC....

    Talking Re: X-server breakage

I just got updates & the path was clear--updated Xorg (all of it) & the driver 180.16 was unblocked...using PPA:

    #Restricted PPAs for .28 Kernel
    deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/anders-kaseorg/ubuntu jaunty main
    deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/anders-kaseorg/ubuntu jaunty main

180.16 driver installed without problems--just added the:

    Section "ServerFlags"
    Option "IgnoreABI" "True"
    EndSection

    as per dinxter's fix.

Ok... I also installed the ppa version and it seems to work OK including DKMS.

A new updated Xorg seems also to be coming....

See if it causes trouble for this driver...

Impossible to get any facts about it....

    Re: X-server breakage

Since installing the 180.16 driver, and all the Xorg packages, my cursor on Firefox now goes funny when a tooltip shows up, the cursor changes from a hand to a normal pointer. And sometimes, the pointer will quickly flash between a hand and a pointer about three times before it changes to a normal pointer. Happens here and on other websites as well.

The same happened for me and I adjusted settings for the mouse.

A small decrease for both Acceleration and Sensitivity.
