Problem Installing to a flash Drive

I have a 64 GB flash drive that I would like to install ubuntu on. I tried doing a normal install but It had trouble with the partitioning and mounting the file system and would not complete, so I tried using the tool to create a USB startup disk and that completed successfully but it would not boot. I would like to get this working so I can use it on multiple computers and save changes and install new programs. Can anyone help??

Go into your BIOS and be sure you've enabled booting from USB. Also be sure that the primary partition is flagged to boot.
