Owen, thank you for the information. I've yet to try NDISwrapper yet; I was going to try another distribution first. That said, I had no idea there was a button to turn on/off wifi. I'll get back to you and let you know if it was disabled. *fingers crossed*

I've confirmed that the new STA binary works. If you don't want to compile it yourself, the binary seems to be included in the new alpha 2 release (just make sure your wireless is enabled using the button on the laptop frame. oops!)

Re: [SOLVED] Broadcom 4312 (BCM4312) 14e4:4315 STA Binary Driver HELP

    I have the same Broadcom 4312 (14e4:4315) wireless in a lenovo 3000 G430 laptop.
It worked fine when I installed Intrepid. Once I closed the wireless network switch of my laptop when it was connected to wireless. After that it never worked. I do not know whether it has created a hardware problem.

I get the following outputs for various commands:

    $sudo iwlist scan

Thanks for your reply. I have also installed the same driver, as shown in your png file. I don't know what else to do, and why it suddenly stopped after I switched it off manually by mistake. Tried several solutions from various forums and documents with no success
