    Question new hard drive

    ok to day i got a new hard drive and i instaled ubuntu and on my old one has u buntu too i want to get rid of the old u buntu files how do i do this

    You can just run gparted and delete the partitions on the old drive. There are other ways, but that is the simplest.

    If you are going to get rid of the drive, make sure that the drive you want to erase is the ONLY drive in the machine (remove the other ones) and obtatin DBAN (Deriks boot n nuke), put it on a floppy, insert the floppy, run the software and rest assured that the data is not recoverable by any non-supergovernmentspook officials! DO NOT RUN THAT PROGRAM WITH ANY DISKS IN THE MACHINE YOU DO NOT WANT ERASED BEYOND RECOVERY.

    What is the goal -- to sanitize the old drive and give it away, or reuse it in the same system?
