Openoffice GUI glitch

ive been searching for a while now, and have found a few people with this problem but non of their fixes seem to work for me.

The menus and complete GUI in openoffice is unreadable, actually no text is visible, except a few very quick moments when you scan the mouse over the menus.

This came about directly after installing a popular gnome theme from gnome-look called Dust.

I am using Ubuntu 8.10, i have tried uninstalling Oo, reinstalling, and even tried Oo 3.0. Nothing is working.

What is your graphic card aaronmcconkey?

Perhaps it has something to do with it like here:

If you are using nvidia card, it is nvidia driver bug.I dont know which version fixes it (yes one version fixes it ), do a little search on the forums
