MegaMan effect

I had no idea where to post this because it isn't really a support topic, but I guess it sort of relates to leisure.

There is a Mac OS (and now Windows) application called MegaMan Effect that is a very fun and whimsical app that any gaming nerd might like to have on their system. It's demonstrated here:

I wanted to ask if anyone out there can modify this to run on Linux. From the system tray, preferably. The project's code is available here:

I would make it workable under Linux if I had any idea how. Someone could make a lot of Linux geeks happy by doing so.
