Nope, whatever I am doing I am in some way not doing it right! I can install the panel, but it seams like the patching does wrong, because I am not getting the true transparency...
I changed the patch to yours, ranamed it to "panel2.patch" placed it in /tmp/pacbuild/build/xfce-panel/panel2.patch
no...wait I will post once more, I think I've found the error

Then you can't really go wrong with the hydroxygen icon pack from gnome-looks (using the aqua folders). I replace a few of the gtk-back/forward buttons with the mac buttons for my browser and Thunar.... and I create my own custom folders for the panel launchers using GIMP.
As for the gtk theme it is the murrine-svn gtk engine which is very easy to write a gtkrc for. This is one my themes that I made that was influenced from the MurrineGlow and Shiki-Colors themes available on gnome-looks.org.... just download one of those and modify it with your own colors and customizations using these settings (even newer settings for svn version): http://www.cimitan.com/murrine/options
And the screelets are the basic screenlets except I edit the python scripts to use the same font and colors.... also, I change the "background.svg" images to all use the same color (and also the Archxfce4 logo).
The conky script is one I've been using for a few years now.
The emerald theme from the picture you posted is something I made from modifying the "glow" theme and adding different buttons (and different colors and settings to add the glossy fade at the top).
Also for that picture I used a Firefox userchrome for the tab-bar background. (My newest theme doesn't need it because I switched the gradient around to blend into the bg_NORMAL color..... I never like how the default gradient and glaze style goes light to dark on the toolbar and then back to light for the tab-bar.)
