    From what I gather - when a user is signing up to the forums, there's a referral box, where they can enter the username of somebody who has referred them to the forums. It can't be set after that time

    Sure - that's what I originally understood. The puzzle is that no one in the big wide real world out there knows me as "coffeecat", or knows that I use coffeecat as my nick on this forum.

    Anyway, I've used up far too many electrons already. It's not important. I'll just leave it as one of life's big mysteries.

    I managed to track my referrals down.

    They were My younger Brother, a Work colleague and someone on IRC who I referred here, although I can't remember his nickname to save my life.

    There is no harm in asking people, in casual conversation, of course.
