Import photos from a digital camera

If Ubuntu does not ask you if it can import the photos:

    1. Open Applications → Graphics → F-Spot Photo Manager and choose File → Import....
    2. Select your camera as the Import Source and then press Import to begin importing your photos.

If your camera does not appear as an import source, press Places → Computer and check if your camera is visible there as a removable storage device. If it is, you can then copy the photos manually using the File Browser.
Try this and please report back.
Keep it real. Keep it nice.

what i generally do is take the SD card out and plug it directly into my computer, skipping the middle man, and let ubuntu mount it so i can just drag-drop by myself.

    i dislike fspot.

it opens fspot for me too... i close it and the sd card shows up in nautilus and lets me open it like a thumb drive.

if that is what you are doing then i have no idea why it wouldn't work, crazypenguin :\
