    Another thing you can try is, adding these to lines to you DeviceSection:

            Option          "UseInternalAGPGART"    "1" ## tinker with 1 or 0, it won't hurt your system, just will check if the internal or the fglrx shipped agpgart works
    ... put your money where your mouth is ...
    stop sustaining Microsoft (and its pet named Apple)!

    It won't let me make the changes, as I do not have the permissions. (I do have my admin password). How do I change it?

    Nope. Still the same. I made the change to the xorg.conf, but it still is using mesa. I have not yet checked putting in a 0 in the option part, as I was not quite sure if you meant both of the lines or just that last one. Here is my current log:

    Thought I'd chime in and say that I'm experiencing the same exact problem. No matter what I do, it seems the darned driver is stuck on Mesa. I've tried the suggestions in this thread to no avail.

    EDIT: Though I don't have the same AGP errors that DOS4dinner has.

    Hopefully someone can figure this out.If I do a manual method 2 install, will that hopefully set it up without those mesa drivers? Also, if I plan to do a method 2 install, do I need to uninstall envy and restore my xorg.conf to the way it was?

    On another note, why on earth isn't there a button or function in Ubuntu that says "Turn off MESA drivers".
    In DOS, no one can hear you click.

    only change the IinternalAGPGart value

    keep your current adjusted xorg.conf (make a backup to your desktop with:
    Code:
    sudo cp -vf /etc/X11/xorg.conf ~/Desktop/xorg.conf.txt; sudo chmod 755 ~/Desktop/xorg.conf.txt
    )

    then uninstall the current atidriver with envy. You can now remove or keep envyng, doesn't really matter, as long as you don't touch it.

    -> run method 2
