Two New 15" Laptops with Sandy Bridge Architecture!

We're excited to announce the release of two new laptops. Each is built upon the Sandy Bridge architecture.

An old name from the System76 archives is back with new (and incredibly powerful) specifications! Have a look at the new Gazelle Professional!

And the world's fastest Ubuntu laptop just got faster! When we say the new Serval Professional is the "Vanguard of Ubuntu Laptops," it's not just hype.

    Hello,

Will you ever have 17.3" or even 18.4" portable computers?

    Thank you.

We sure will. We'll have a 17" at the end of January or beginning of February. It's in R&D now.

What is the estimated battery life on these? Any plans for a System 76 laptop with a 12-14 screen and good (5 hours plus) battery life?

Nice, signed up. I hope once released you will continue developing and maintaining the big screen model(s). When this HP dies eventually I'll surely grab a new computer from you guys.

Battery life on the Serval is approx: 2-1/2 to 3 hours. Gazelle is not tested yet, but probably slightly more.

Not aware of any plans for a 12-14".

...What's the difference between these two new laptops? They look like the exact same model, except the Serval has a glossy screen instead of matte, and an additional upgrade option for its CPU and GPU.

That, plus the Gazelle doesn't have the rubberized finish that the Serval has.

About how often does the fan kick in to cool down the laptops? Are they quiet when the fan isn't running?
