    Re: Acer Timeline 3810T

I seem to be having the same issue as Molder - wireless becomes slow then drops out and will not reconnect. Rebooting gets it going again.
dmesg shows a few of the following
    [ 406.804924] wlan0: deauthenticated from 00:18:39:a8:af:33 (Reason: 6)
    [ 408.587525] wlan0: deauthenticating from 00:18:39:a8:af:33 by local choice (reason=3)

Any idea what is going on?

    Jim.

    Hi,

I have found a solution here:
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1308090&page=2
Open alsamixer and change the mic volume (CAPTURE). The left side to 0 and the right to 100.
Open alsamixer, push F6 to choose the Audio card. Push F5 (All). Move with arrow keys on CAPTURE.
Push Z to decrease the left column and E to raise the right one.
Now start skype and it should work. I think it should work also in the D250.

It works on my 4810TG. I do not understand why, but works

Amazing! I don't know why, but it works on 3810T too (Mint 8 aka Ubuntu 9.10 with latest linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic)
    Kind regards.

P.s. I updated bios to 1.17 and suspend does not still works

Can also confirm this works to solve the skype mic issue. No idea why, but it does work, no need to kill pulseaudio.

I am glad to hear it.
Back to the suspend. Mine fixed when the swap switched on.
Currently I have only 1 issue, I cannot write any CD.

I suppose you are not talking about suspend to ram... you are talking about suspend to disk (hibernate)
It's not the same thing, believe me...

    Well, mainly correct
I had problem with the hibernate. True.
The swap fixed the hibernate, and now I have tried the suspend.
It works perfectly, but I do not know whether the swap is the solution or not.

I can't believe the problem (and the solution!) is the swap partition...

Anyway, how many time spend to resume from suspend to ram?

Just 2-3sec. If you can see the cursor of the mouse on the blank screen, the system is ready. Memory consumption ~300mb.
I have left the my laptop in suspend for 6hours, and it decreased the battery from 97%->91%. 1hour takes ~1%. Nice.
Probably I will use it more frequently...
