Look in synaptic and please tell me what version of ia32-libs-gtk you are running or type this in a terminal
    Code:
    sudo apt-cache show ia32-libs-gtk
    Also are you running Kubuntu?

    hey- worked great, thanks.

except it's *super* unstable. at least it was, i reinstalled without the mplayer plugin (but with java and flash) and i've made it past the 10 minute mark, which is a first. previously it would crash everytime i tried to download something, loaded new pages, and just randomly.

mplayer is not vital for me, but i'm wondering if i'm the only one who is having trouble with it? is it possible to somehow use the amd64 mplayer plugin with firefox32? or something like totem?

*oops, just crashed again. so i guess it's something else.

What version of Ubuntu are you running Firefox32 on?

oh, dapper amd64. recently reinstalled from 686.

other idea: is it possible that my java's aren't getting along? i have 1.5 x86_84 for "normal" stuff and i see that the script installed j2re 1.4 for firefox32. i don't know, i'm pretty new at this stuff.

*update: for what it's worth, i can consistently crash ff by trying to edit/preferences.

Its possible. You can remove the java plugins in /usr/local/firefox32/plugins or the j2re 1.4 package to see if thats the case.

    Geez...

That worked... I Didn't think that could be a theme issue because the 64 bit version liiekd fine. It was only the 32 bit version that didn't work...

Oh well. I feel silly, but now it works!

Im thinking its possibly something to do with ia32-libs-gtk and that control theme. Can you tell me what version you are running. Please type
    Code:
    sudo apt-cache show ia32-libs-gtk
in a terminal to get the version.

    Hi Kilz,

Very nice script - thanks! I'm also having trouble with sound in flash (tried it on the flash movies on www.illwillpress.com). Unfortunately, I checked for the /home/bosonator/.macromedia folder, and it doesn't exist (did an ls -l in my home directory, so yes... I did see all the other hidden folders). Should this have been created when I ran the script, or should it have already been there? What do you suggest I do? Thanks in advance!

To tell you the truth this is a new one. I would probably try following the flash section of the howto and manualy setting up flash. This is probably why you are not getting sound as thats the settings folder.
