Re: Howto: Use BlueProximity and your cellphone for security

My Blackberry 8330 is pairing and seems to keep distance correctly. But BlueProximity seems to not want to lock the screen. It has said it is in simulation mode (locking disabled).

    How can I enable locking?

    Got it.

Seems to work with the Motorola RIZR.

I have a little bit of a security concern here though. I like the idea of my computer locking when I walk away, but in theory someone could spoof my phone's MAC, allowing them to unlock the computer when I'm not there. I'd much prefer it lock when I walk away, and I type in the password when I come back.

Is there any preferred way to disable unlocking the screen? I've set the "Unlocking Command" to "true" (a command that returns true and exits), but I don't know if there's a better way to do this.

I know it's not my cellphone, but Ive got my desktop working with my laptop. When I leave with my laptop in tow, the desktop runs a script that locks itself then SSHs over to my XP running Cygwin and runs a program called Nircmd that locks it too.

My friend has it working with his Verizon, no idea what brand.

Just putting it out there but I noticed on the main page that IPhone is stated not to work. I have the 3g version and it does lock and unlock the screen.

    Hi Kas,

what "main page" do you mean? I use the old iPhone and it works too. If it's somewhere on my homepage I should fix it

    Hey Lars!!

    Thanks for the app!!

I ment the instructional page has a section of working phones and non-working phones.

    --Past--
    Working phones

    * I removed the phone list because .. well this seem to work with everything

    Non-working phones

    * iPhones are reported as not working:/
    --end past --

    Thanks for the fix

    Have a good day!

    kas
