Talking AAC and M4A encoding in Rhythmbox.

Is there any way to get Rhythmbox to rip a CD and encode music files in M4A or MP3? If so what are the steps I need to take to get it to work? Thank you all again for your quick replies to my last post.

Install the restricted extras by running sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras or by searching for it in Synaptic and installing it there. Also install sound converter with sudo apt-get install sound-converter, or again installing it through Synaptic. You can use Sound Converter to convert your sound files to mp3, m4a, or other formats.

Thank you mlsquad! Went into terminal and typed the command you gave me. Works like a charm now.

Thanks for posting your reply maxo, I had never used sound converter, I have always been asked by others for a quck easy way to convert audio and this is definitely a nice simple application.

One note however the command I needed to use to install it from a terminal was:

Code:
sudo apt-get install soundconverter
There seems to also be a kde version:

Code:
sudo apt-get install soundkonverter
THanks again!
