R.i.p. W8rla

My father, Roger Allberry, HAM radio callsign W8RLA, passed away April 18. Friday he gave me his laptop to install Ubuntu and all the HAM programs I could find for it. The next morning he was gone, my mother found him in his favorite recliner.

Re: R.i.p. W8rla

After dad died, I inherited all the HAM radio and computer equipment of his. Today I finally took a good look in the laptop bag his laptop came in and found a note from him to me. I'm not saying he knew he was going to pass on, but I am saying that I now fully understand how much he loved me.

Sorry for your loss. I hadn't planned on having a good cry today, but after reading your last post.....

Very touching. I'm not going to be cliche' and say "I know how you feel", but I lost my father as well some years back so I do understand some of what you must be going through now.
