Hey, those files seem to be for:
http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...rch_type=&aq=f
http://www.thinclient.co.th/product/dowload/YF700.pdf
Also, anyone have any information about this product on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Netbook-7-WiFi...item3efcab81eb
CPU type is: WMT,ARM-WM8505
Is the ARM-WM8505 the same as the ARM-VT8500?
Not obviously the same CPU, but they are both ARM, so would any Linux than ran on the VT8500 run on the WM8505 too?
Also, ignore anything about Little Linux Laptop (LLL)... Those laptops use a MIPS CPU, this a totally different arch (ARM), although some of the hardware could be similar. (Seems the sound on the netbook I posted is AC97, which sounds promising for driver support!)
Cheers, Alex.
more than happy to do it.
I've chucked what i think are the correct files, plus other bits at:
http://www.tonyblews.co.uk/ubi/
Let me know if i've balls it up, as I haven't done any proper work with linux since the mid 90s when a 386 running slackware made an acceptable file server.

Tonys info say his hardware is based on SMDK2450
http://www.samsung.com/global/busine...0besovideo.com
Perhaps his image will,or will not, give a quack on SD treatment.Thank you Tony.
isn't this just the same device?!
(well it looks like the black/silver version from ebay - hardware specs are similar)
http://www.cnmlifestyle.com/
they offer download of complete linux source code...
(netbook available with linux or win ce)
regards
I could not get Tonys linuxrc Image to quack, unfortunately, but this was my try!.I belive Tonys software is developed on a real view board and his processor therefore not "our" VT variant of the samsung 926EJ-S.
Some of the netbooks (those displaying a menu when pressing F1) could be different,I do not know, but the do not boot from SD card as far as I remember.
necro666,the CNM book come in two editions, the "silver" with ARM 920 processor and the other with MIPS processor.
The Kaser yf700 uses MontaVista Linux right?
It seems the MontaVista Linux Professional Edition "Preview Kit" (3.1 and above) can be used to compile the kernel. The preview kit no longer seems to be available though.
What is MontaVista Linux Professional Edition? And why does it seem to be closed off to the open source community?
Hi everyone,
There's a highly comprehensive step-by-step guide on cross-compiling and building a linux kernel from a scratch on non-x86 systems:
http://www.linuxfordevices.com/files...ast-router.pdf
Author of this document uses Sega Dreamcast as an example, but most part of the info can be implemented for our case. Hope somebody have time enough to read, understand and try this.
Just to let you folks know: mistake not my silence for inactivity. I have a pile of about 2.5 cm of paperworks (@ 4 pages/sheet) to dig through: The printout of the WinCE bsp of te YF-700, some VT8500-ish datasheet, the arm-926 Technical reference manual and i'm 'picking around' in the arch/arm/mach-* subdirectories of the linux kernel source.
The aim is to compose an arch/arm/mach-vt8500 directory that compiles and results in something that will actually boot a kernel on my WM8505 machine(s)...
If you can 'head me off' by finding more/better info, or by finding a kernel-source that pre-empts my activity, then no-one will be more pleased than i
