mozilla firefox problem in ubuntu 9.1

Actually when i click on URL bar in firefox, i always need to click ctrl+A for selecting the whole address and type a new one instead of using backspace.
What my problem is my firefox is not auto selecting the address in URL bar when ever i click on it..
why this is happening .. can anyone explain and solve it ?

Firefox doesn't automatically "select all" of the address. There's nothing you can do about it, except drag your mouse across the address bar, or press ctrl+a.

type about:config in the url bar
search for browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll
then, right click it and select 'toggle'

You can also double-click in the url bar to select all.
