    bc43xx on ubuntu frustrating.

So... I'm trying to get bc43xx on my hardy install I've followed a few guides and have gotten plain stuck and frustrated. I hate the b43 driver to all hell since I cant use AES on it. Can someone please help me get this done so I can be happy with my ubuntu install again. Thank you.

Are you trying to get bcm43xx, b43, or ndiswrapper running? Can you post your lspci -nn also? Thanks!

b43 is the problem here... I can't use AES when using b43... I'm trying to get the fwcutter one working and I just can't I've tried every guide for hardy and none work.

Well, I have the same wireless card as you and I am able to get the b43 module to work. Are you saying that it works, but you cannot get AES working with it? What is AES? If you cannot get b43 to connect to an unencrypted router, can you post the results of:
    Code:
    lsmod|grep -i -e b43 -e bcm43xx -e ssb -e ndiswrapper
Can you verify that firmware exists in /lib/firmware/b43?

    EDIT:
If you just can get AES working on it, but you were able to with bcm43xx, you could try to install the bcm43xx driver back. It would require removing the blacklist for bcm43xx, blacklisting ssb, and installing bcm43xx-fwcutter.

AES is not an option when I use b43 on hardy. Which is a huge nuesence plus my download speeds are lower. All in all the b43 drivers suck bad! I can get a normal hotspot working but to do my home network which I am mostly hooked up to I need AES... NEED. Right now I'm not near a normal hotspot though.

How are you doing your requests (/etc/network/interfaces, Network Manager, wicd)?

I changed mine real quickly to AES and it connects using Wicd. I have not figured out how to connect through /etc/network/interfaces yet.

So you haven't tried Ndiswrapper yet, only the B43 driver?
