I downloaded that theme, which really comes from Deviant Art. Note that he recommends installing Mac4Lin RC 1.0 first.

The icons in the global menu extend beyond the borders. He documents how to customize some things on the web site. It might be worth it to try a fix, but I'm back with Mac4Lin.

The only thing I don't like about that theme is the black line which separates the title bar from the menu bar. Tho the actual Mac OS X has that kind of a layout for windows with no menu bar, in cases where the latter exists the separator line is absent. Unfortunately there is no way to do that in GTK as of now.

Just spotted this, it looks great! I'll keep this in mind for when I eventually switch my mac-using family over to Linux, it would certainly help make the new computer seem more familiar to them.

Personally, although I grew up with and loved the Mac classics I was always annoyed by OSX and have now come to love fluxbox instead. So I probably won't use it myself. But I'm sure my mother would really appreciate it!

    Keep up the good work!

Do you use the Emerald window manager? If so, then you can manually create ~/.emerald/themes and ~/.emerald/theme folders and run the script. If you don't use Emerald then there is nothing to worry about

Another possibility: Wrong directory, /.emerald/themes should be ~/.emerald/themes. The '~' means your home directory.

One mistake I did was to use sudo to run the install script. This results in root owning the newly created directories which means it will fail on the next install.

I would run the installer as "normal" user and let the script invoke sudo when it needs.

Oh yes.. thats a good point which I don't mention in the docs/script. I will ask Peng to add this in the docs...

Please keep in mind that I wrote that script some time back and it may need to be updated for the current state of svn code. Or do I need to update the script, infra? I haven't run it since my clean install of 9.04.

He mentions 1.0RC, so thats the script on the download page and not the SVN.
