    how secure in ubuntu firewall

does it take care of both incoming and outgoing traffic unlike windows and does it reduce the risk of credit card details (for example)from getting to the wrong hands.

It is impossible for your credit card data to get stolen, unless:

    1. you write it deliberateley somewhere in a forum
    2. you enter it on a phishing website that is a disguse of the original
    3. you have the data somewhere saved on your computer and somone has access to it (remote control software)

so, the only way to lose such data, is if you are not carful upon entering it somewhere online. Make sure to delete cookies on a regular basis and disable auto filling of your browser.

So, mostly the firewall is not even remoteley connected with the loss of your data (except remote control getting installed by malware, which is rather unlikeley). What exacltly your firewall keeps away and how it functions, that is something someone else will have to tell, since i am not too familar with it.

    kudos
