    Re: STEAM on Linux BETA

I am testing with my Macbook 4.2 using Ubuntu 12.10 and Steam runs just fine! I am using Xorg-Edgers latest PPA for Intel drivers, thus I have not problem with 3D accel. BTW temps are quite higher than before. Speaking with numbers, I've got 70-80 Celsius running the game.

    Bugs:
    1) I can't maximize steam window in Unity, but it works fine in KDE.
    2) My cursor disappears when browsing into Steam Client.

In case you don't already have a beta key, there is a tricky way to play two or three games. Yes even without a beta key, you can play them (for the time being). Check this video, me playing World of Goo.

sorry for my english. I am just too excited

    Re: STEAM on Linux BETA

I am installing Killing Floor now and will test it out as soon as it downloads and report my findings.

Edit: Killing Floor installs but won't run due to "missing executable".

I installed Steam on my Kubuntu 64 bit system and circumvented the "closed beta" message by opening steam via this link: steam://open/friends
When I click the Team Fortress 2 "Play Game" link, it does nothing.

Which Nvidia driver should I use for it?

304 or 310... Is one more stable than the other or does it matter?

For those in Kubuntu type in terminal...

    steam steam://nav/library to launch Steam.

Also don't think you can install TF2 if your not in the beta, it either tells you servers are too busy or it crashes.
