    8.10 desktop reboots after sleep/suspend/hibernate

When I try to revive my computer after it has gone to sleep, or has been suspended or put in hibernation, more often than not it restarts, and I have to set up my desktop windows again from scratch.

This doesn't happen every time, but it happens often enough to be very disruptive. I tried looking at the system log, but didn't see any clue there (but then again, I am a Linux newbie).

Any ideas? I saw some posts that reported similar problems, but I didn't get a clear idea of what the problem could be.

    Thanks

What is your model of laptop, you may want to search on the forums to see how suspend is working for others with the same.

It is a Dell desktop (not laptop), one of their Inspiron or Dimension series, and came with Hardy installed.

I didn't find anything similar in the postings yet.
