No I haven't, but I'll do it now. This is under Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty, not under Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic, right?

Sorry. I didn't have time to do it last night, I had too much homework. I'll definitely do it today because I have no hw

Well, I tried it and apparently, the new firmware does require kernel 2.6.31. It compiles fine in 2.6.28-15, but it doesn't load. Here's what dmesg shows:
Code:chenxiaolong@d6657k1:~$ dmesg | tail [ 245.370035] b43-phy0: Controller RESET (DMA error) ... So you are still stuck with neither firmware working, correct? Are you still using the code from the 25th? I am trying to figure out the difference between yours and Sureshot324. He is using the Jaunty firmware which I thought you had problems with also.
If you are having problems with both, you might either post something back at the openSUSE forums or send something to the b43 mailing list to see if something is missing. You will most likely need to post the dmesg messages for both firmware along with which version of b43-fwcutter you are using.

No, only the new firmware doesn't load. With the included firmware from the repository, it shows a list of networks, but it can't connect to any of them. Also, if I restart back into windows, the card is not recognized until I take the card out of the computer and touch one of the pins.

I have a lenovo ideapad s10-2. After installing ubuntu karmic koala my wireless card Broadcom bcm4312 chip stopped working. It worked fine in jaunty.
so I installed b43-fwcutter as instructed by Metaljaz.
sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter
It worked fine after that.
How come it worked in jaunty but not in karmic.
