    Looking For linuxventrilo.sh download.

Title says it. I have been trying to get Ventrilo to let me speak, so I got rid of it. I'd like to do a new installation, but I can't seem to find

Edit2: btw here is script to install Ventrilo http://kanava.org/~hifi/linuxventrilo.sh from another thread I found. But the link is dead and I cannot find one that works.

Most of the guides make no sense to me.
I tried to use http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=41737 - but alas it was little help to me since I didn't fully understand how to do all of these things.

    Help please
    Very much appreciated!

If someone asks you to sudo rm -rf anything don't do it.

Firstly, I'm not even sure what you mean by that. Ventrilo is a VOIP client...Pidgin is an IM client.

Secondly, those instructions you linked are old. Ventrilo installs fine in Wine. Just download the Windows Ventrilo installer and execute it with Wine.

If you have trouble with the settings once it's installed I can post mine and they may help.

Could you post commands for installing Wine and Ventrilo? Or just for Wine, if there isn't one for ventrilo since it's a Windows-app.

Install wine from the repos...as in 'sudo apt-get install wine'. After it's installed you can run windows executables with 'wine file.exe'.

Took me quite a while browsing the forums to find those settings. Funny thing is it worked _after_ choosing no Mixer...which seems odd, but oh well. Can't remember the post I found the settings at or else I'd link it.

If you get that working you'll need ventriloctrl so that push-to-talk works when vent doesn't have focus. I wouldn't worry about that til you have vent working though.
