Importing Yahoo mail folders into Thunderbird

    Hello
Does anyone know if there's a way to import folders and their contents (not inbox) from Yahoo mail into Thunderbird 15.0?
    Cheers

That's interesting, thanks for letting me know.
Unfortunately that didn't happen for me.
Maybe I missed something with my settings. I'll have a look.
    I'm sure it's something simple.

What version of Thunderbird were you using?

    Cheers

The version I believe is 15.0.1, as we have had no issues installing it on our 2 linux machines and our 2 Window machines.

I think it has something to do with IMAP (whatever that is). My Yahoo account is POP. I'm investigating further...

Re: Importing Yahoo mail folders into Thunderbird

IMAP provides a better method to access your mail from multiple devices. If you check your email at work, on your mobile phone, and again at home, IMAP ensures that new mail is accessible from any device at any given time.

Finally, IMAP offers a more stable experience overall. Whereas POP is prone to losing messages or downloading the same messages multiple times, IMAP avoids this through two-way syncing capabilities between your mail clients and your web Gmail or Yahoo.

Re: Importing Yahoo mail folders into Thunderbird

I got some clues from these websites but it still didn't work:

    http://guillaumeb.com/ym/imap.html
    http://email.about.com/od/accessingy...p-Settings.htm
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Download_m..._other_folders

Now I've messed with my settings which were working well before...
I think it is probably easier to do it manually by moving each folder's contents into the inbox, one at a time.
    Slower, but safer.

Still, I wonder what's different about my email and yours.

    Cheers anyway.

What about uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird and trying from there?
