    Re: Netflix On Ubuntu

More on the compatibility 2-3 posts ago:

When I check out the PPA directory at https://launchpad.net/~ehoover/+archive/compholio/, I see only:
    0.2.0 raring, 0.2.0 quantal, 0.2.0 precise.

Unfortunately no 11.10 (ocelot). Anyone know of any tips to manually compile?
I followed the directions here: http://ashu-geek.blogspot.com/2012/1...or-ubuntu.html

However, when I attempt to load a movie I get a Silverlight error: "Silverlight Installation Problem, Error Code: 2104"

    Re: Netflix On Ubuntu

I have tried to install netflix desktop more than once. The problem I have is that silverlight does not install with the netflix desktop. So until they fix this problem I have to use my PS3.
When I try to play a movie in netflix desktop I only get up that I have to install silverlight.

If anyone knows a fix for this I will be mighty grateful.

The laptop I try to use this one has ubuntu 12.04 64bit installed.

Once I clicked maximize on the window manager's top bar, the video appeared in the Netflix window!

I'm so happy that I can watch Netflix now
    That's great!
I hope they can make silver-light ver 5 work, then we can get hardware accelerated video. I read a comment on the wine forum saying they need to do more work on wine3d.

Seems like if I made a change to Wine CFG I have to restart my machine other wise I would have accelerated sound issues.

I would get a terminal error message with that. IDK why but that is the way mine works.

    Re: Netflix On Ubuntu

So I was able to get somewhere with a manual compile, running on Ubuntu 11.10, using directions from:
    http://ashu-geek.blogspot.com/2012/1...or-ubuntu.html

Seems as all compiles properly. But when I go to start a movie from Netflix, the screen just stays forever black. Processor and CPU usage is minimal. No blatent errors in the wine log (that I noticed). And no silverlight errors.

    Anyone experience anything similar?

Is there anyway to keep the Netflix desktop from opening in full screen by default?

Hit F11 and close it. It will start windowed next time.
