I'm getting this same problem. I'm able to use FBChat via Empathy when people contact me, but my Facebook contacts are not displayed in Empathy.
My Google contacts are displayed, though.
Got the same problem.
For me the contacts do show up for a short time when they first signon, or if they write me a message. Only Facebook accounts are affected.
same behaviour here. has a bug been filed for this?
There is also problem with ICQ contacts, as well. What is strange, is that under XFCE or KDE empathy works, while
anything gnome3, it does not works. So I guess this is related to some gnome3 supporting lib (as KDE and XFCE does not use gnome3).
Same here, I'm using FBMessenger now.
Ubuntu - "humanidade com os outros" or "sou o que sou pelo que nós somos"
After the upgrade to 13.04 my Empathy also stopped showing contacts.
Was there every a bug report filed for this as I am having the same problem?
empathy is an unusable mess in 13.04, do yourselves a favor and use pidgin
Desktop: Windows 8 x64 | Intel Core i5-2500 | 16 GB DDR3 1333 | ATI 6950 2gb | 64gb Vertex 2/320gb/750gb/1tb hdd
Laptop: System76 Lemur Ultra | Xubuntu 13.04 x64 | 2.5Ghz Intel Core i5-3210m | 8GB DDR31600 | Intel HD4000 | 500GB 7200rpm hybrid hdd
Pidgin is no better for me. It is a mess as well unless it became better in the final 13.04. I will try Pidgin again.
