After intense studying of gsettings keys (a freshly created user didn’t have this) I figured that I had screen magnifier on, with no magnification. There’s no way to tell that it is enabled. Is there extension to hide top bar for us that are using Gnome3 PPAs?

Not sure if this has been covered alreadly but here it is: Upcoming Features for 13.04 While Ubuntu GNOME 13.04 will ship with GNOME 3.6 by default (like 12.10), GNOME 3.8 will be available in the GNOME 3 PPA. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGNOME/ So, 3.8 is optional. Once May 9th gets here I'll have a spare partition so I might try both 3.6 and 3.8 at the same time.

I also fixed another problem, too. 'rhythmbox-client' was causing Conky to hard-lock, every time I started Rhythmbox (I've been using 'rhythmbox-client' to print the 'title' in Conky). I came up with code that uses 'qdbus/mpris' instead of 'rhythmbox-client'. So far, so good... Code: ${if_running rhythmbox} ${voffset -13}${font DroidSans:bold:size=8}${color4}RHYTHMBOX${offset 8}${color6}${voffset -2}${hr 1}${font} ${voffset 4}${font DroidSans:size=8.25}${color3}${if_match "${execpi 2 expr length "`qdbus org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.rhythmbox /\org/mpris/MediaPlayer2 org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.Player.Metadata | grep title | cut -c 14-""`"}" >= "48"}${alignr 15}${scroll 38 4* ${execi 2 qdbus org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.rhythmbox /\org/mpris/MediaPlayer2 org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.Player.Metadata | grep title | cut -c 14-""}}${font}${else}${alignc}${execi 2 qdbus org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.rhythmbox /\org/mpris/MediaPlayer2 org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.Player.Metadata | grep title | cut -c 14-""}${font}${endif}${endif} * Have you noticed that the new Ubu Forum software is wrapping long lines of code (see above)? That's actually just 3-lines of code. Looks fine in the editor, but displays terribly in the threads. I have no control over this...

As a side-note... The screen blanker has been working lately, more or less. It doesn't trap me on the GDM login screen any more. So, I turned screen blanking back on, during the session (15 minutes). The problem now is, if the walk away from this machine for an extended length of time, it will awake from GDM, but during the rest of the session, the timeout drops from 15 minutes -> 30 seconds of inactivity. Sheesh! Guess I go turn-off the screen blanking again...
