Low resolution on nvidia graphics card and acer monitor

hey guys, the weirdest thing just happened. I installed the most recent updates for hardy last night and my screen resolution got totally messed up. (max of 640 x 480)

I'm using an Nvidia 8500 gt and Acer AL1916W.
I fear that this bug wont receive enough attention and might not get fixed because it seems to only happen with very specific monitor and graphics card setups. Does anyone have the hardware available to them to test it? is anyone experiencing the problem?

This bug has already been reported, check it out. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205093

This is honestly way above my knowledge level, so any help would be appreciated.

Re: Low resolution on nvidia graphics card and acer monitor

Are you still running the nvidia driver or vesa?

Edit: Also the hardy forum is probaly a better place for this, plus you will get a better response from there.
