Getting started

I've been using Ubuntu for about a year full time but still have a lot of questions. I've recently decided to start my own business and would like make it a Linux only environment but I'm worried about finding good software and hardware.

Specifically I need to find a good quality accounting program that is reasonably priced. On the hardware side I need a quality color laser printer for billing and general business. I've looked at Dell's personal AIO color laser printer.

If anyone has any suggestions please post and/or email me at royreichatattdotcom

Re: Getting started

for accounting software, you might try GnuCash http://www.gnucash.org/ or http://www.osalt.com/quicken or http://www.osalt.com/quickbooks

for printing, look here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupp...nentsPrinters/ This is a good starting point to find printers that work with Ubuntu. I see on Dell's site they list some that "work" in Linux.

Re: Getting started

Thanks for the post. I've d/led gnuCash and setup up a dummy test account so far it seems to be a pretty good system. A bit of a learning curve but that's to be expected on any new app.
